Industrial Cartons of Zambia was founded in 1980 by the late Mr Harshad Patel and is still family led today. What began as a single box plant has supplied packaging to generations of Zambian manufacturers, farmers, retailers and restaurants.
We make our own corrugated board from paper reels, then print, cut, glue and pack it in one plant in Lusaka's Chinika Light Industrial Area. Because everything happens under one roof, we control quality, lead times and cost on every job.
Today ICZ is part of the ICZ Group. Our sister company, Polycor Limited, makes plastic packaging, so customers can source corrugated and plastic packaging from one group.

German engineering, Zambian ingenuity
In 1987 our founder installed the first BHS corrugator in Zambia and its neighbouring countries. At a time when bringing industrial machinery into Zambia was far from easy, the German-built machine gave ICZ its own board-making capability years ahead of the region.
For more than three decades our engineers kept it producing quality board. When parts wore out, they rebuilt them by hand on our own lathe rather than waiting for imports.
When a BHS sales manager visited he found the machine still in remarkable condition. BHS Corrugated then featured ICZ in its 2018 Business Report, sent to BHS customers around the world, as a story of longevity and engineering skill.

The same commitment, with modern machinery
The spirit that kept a 1961 machine running is the same one that drives our investment today. Since 2019 we have installed a new corrugating line and multiple new HD-quality printing presses, and upgraded automation in every area of the plant for consistent quality.
